About
The brand was founded in 2020 by Bajtai Ádám, an experienced furniture designer and manufacturer with more than a decade of experience. In his Budapest workshop, alongside modular sideboards, he produces a wide range of uniquely designed solid wood furniture. The German name 'Holzkind' — child of wood — captures the organic, playful spirit of every piece.
Company story
Ádám Bajtai grew up around sawdust and chisels in his grandfather's rural carpentry shop. After studying industrial design in Budapest, he spent years refining his skills in Austrian and German workshops before returning home to launch Holzkind. The brand's signature is the modular sideboard system: interchangeable solid-wood modules in oak, walnut and ash that customers can rearrange and expand over time. Every joint is hand-fitted, every surface hand-oiled. The workshop in Budapest's XI. district operates on a made-to-order basis, keeping waste minimal and quality uncompromising.
