About
Die Lederwerkstatt is a certified master saddlery run by Elke Marina Riedler in Bad Ischl, in the heart of Austria's Salzkammergut region. From her workshop at Eglmoosgasse 8, she crafts bespoke leather goods — bags, belts, wallets and accessories — using traditional saddler techniques passed down through generations. Every piece is cut, stitched and finished entirely by hand.
Company story
Elke Marina Riedler trained as a saddler and earned her master craftsman's certificate before opening Die Lederwerkstatt in the imperial spa town of Bad Ischl. The workshop specialises in custom leather goods and expert repairs — from restoring a grandfather's briefcase to creating a one-of-a-kind handbag from scratch. Elke sources her hides from Austrian and Italian tanneries that practise vegetable tanning, ensuring every piece ages beautifully. The small workshop also offers leather-working courses, sharing the ancient craft with a new generation of enthusiasts.
